Shooting location

We have decided that we will use JJ's dad's band practice rooms. The location is simple and can be lit dimly. The walls are soundproofed and are made of carpet which will compliment our dim surroundings. This is what the room will look like but we will take all the equipment out.

Our captive will be sitting in a chair much like this, tied with robe, and gagged with a bandana for comfort reasons :)

I just thought - JJ

Guys i thinky some point of view shots from our captive would be a good idea. After watching the other thrillers that are based on the same board as ours i think we should differenciate from them as much as possible.
So as far as i can remember there were no point of view shots from the captive, so this would help the audience see the suroundings. And because the guys in a bog standard room its not going to give anything away. I thought id just put that here so we can fit it into our animatic somewhere :D

Thriller Ideas

So, so far we have composed a few of ideas between us all, to what should be involved in our thriller opening. We thought we should have somebody sitting in a chair tied, gagged and nearly half naked. He is our protagonist. We will have close up shots of different parts if his body, that is bruised and tied up etc. It will then pan to his head which will arise to the sound of a loud noise, and he starts to panic which is shown by the widening of eyes and tensing of fists etc. We will have close ups on this too. The room is dimly lit, and our antagonist will be lurking around but the audience wont see his face just his body walking around in the shadows. Also the use of a news story and report in the opener could be good also. we have a few ideas for a title these are: Static, Fixed, Deadlocked, and Hush.
an alternate ending to our thriller opening could be a long shot of where the protagonist actually is, in unexpected surroundings. Also having the definition of our title from the dictionary, would be coooool.
